Plum-based fruit soup.

Like all these Menno Granny recipes, nobody under 70 *really* knows how to make it.

I've made this using some fresh fruit rather than dried (apples, peaches).

Ingredients:

8 cups water add substitute (disabled)
1 cups prunes (pitted) add substitute (disabled)
1 cups dried apples add substitute (disabled)
1 cups raisins add substitute (disabled)
1/2 cups dried peaches add substitute (disabled)
1/2 cups dried apricots add substitute (disabled)
1 can/jar bing cherries (pitted) add substitute (disabled)
1/2 cups sugar add substitute (disabled)
3 tbsp cornstarch add substitute (disabled)
or: 1/2 cups flour
2 cups milk add substitute (disabled)

Instructions:

Throw the water and and fruit into a pot and cook it on high-medium heat for 20 or 30 minutes.

Mix the sugar, cornstarch, and milk together in a separate bowl. Watch for lumps. Add it to the fruit.

Cook it on lower heat until it's thickened; another half hour or so.

Serve hot or cold (I prefer cold, especially in the summer).
