This went over so well at the last office potluck that I was asked for the recipe. I figured I'd put it up here in case anyone else asks.

Serves 8-10.

Ingredients:

1/2 cups butter add substitute (disabled)
or: 1/2 cups margarine
1/3 cups sugar add substitute (disabled)
1/4 tsp vanilla add substitute (disabled)
1 cups all-purpose flour add substitute (disabled)
1 250g brick of cream cheese add substitute (disabled)
1/4 cups sugar add substitute (disabled)
1 egg add substitute (disabled)
1/2 tsp vanilla add substitute (disabled)
1 can/jar apple pie filling add substitute (disabled)
enough ground cinnamon add substitute (disabled)
enough sliced almonds add substitute (disabled)

Instructions:

Pre-heat oven to 350F.

Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough on bottom and sides of 9" springform pan.*

Combine softened cream cheese and sugar; mix well. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Pour into pastry-lined pan.

Spoon apple pie filling over cream cheese layer; sprinkle with cinnamon and sliced almonds.

Bake for 20 minutes. Loosen torte from rim of pan. Cool before removing rim.

* This can be made in a plain old square baking pan too, and in fact that's the way my mom makes it, since she doesn't have a springform pan. It turns out tasting the same, just slightly less fancy looking.
